Worst customer service ever! Long phone tape maze prevented contact with a real human whom I finally reached, but he wanted to repeat his message, not hear my issue, and then we got cut off! Encouraged by a sales clerk to open a second account to get a bonus percentage off, I just cancelled both accounts because of their inability to transfer an overpayment to cover the lower charge on the new account.

Customer Satisfaction

Glad to hear that JCP has admitted they made a big mistake. I haven't found anything there worth buying in the last year. I was very unhappy with all the changes and the new settings in my favorite store. I will now go back and see if there are things I would like to buy now. I have been a loyal customer for 50 years and used to do all my Christmas shopping there and my shopping for my grandchildren, but in the last year their merchandise and the quality of it has not measured up to their past reputation. Looking forward to going back to shop.

J C Penney is the only department store in our area who does not have shopping carts. If they would add carts in the store's, people would buy more, and the handycap could get around and be able to shop at the store. How they took away the checkout registers, which is terrible, you have to walk all over the store to find the only checkout stations. Also it used to be so easy to go to the catalog department and pickup orders, and now it is also going. Your story has really made it easy for Sears, Kohl etc in the Pa.

injury

my mother fell at one of your stores she tripped on a carpet strip and fell and broke both arms.your people had to call an ambulance.this happen in your store on a carpet strip that should not be there so people can trip on them.we have talked to just about everyone about helping my mother with paying the doctor bills she is stuck with do to this accident.she has been told she is shit out of luck jc pennys will not help her.i will post every where i can to let people know how your company has treated my mother.she has been treated very badly and rude.i dont suggest anyone shop at jc pennys.all she was asking for was help with the bills as this is jc pennys fault.

merchandise

Do you people not realize that some women do not wish to wear 6 inch heals, not flat shoes - that are not good for their feet. Some of us in the over 50 crowd would like to be able to find a pair of dress shoes that do not look like Mary Jane's, or that we will hurt our feet in by trying to walk in ungainly heels. I will think twice before I waste my time visiting your stores since neither the clothing nor the shoes are acceptable. We as adults want to be stylish, but not when those styles cause pain.

Plus these stupid words to type are terrible. your rating is horrible. I have tried 6 times to write this - baloney

employee treating eachother badly

i saw an employee mistreating, degrading another employee.it was disgusting. you care about how the customers are treated but not the employees. she was being so mean to her and rude I couldn't believe it .the other girl did nothing to deserve it .I cant believe you let this go on either.

Won't shop at our JCP again.

I went to our local JC Penny's to look for a couple of things. Went in and was dismayed at the way the store is now in "boutique" style settings. I could not find the size I needed and when I did their was not a corresponding top that went with it. Less available, no staff, just a plain mess. I predict that JCP will be out of business within the next 2 years. Who thought up this ridiculous way of presenting clothing and accessories? Obviously no thought was taken into account with the actual shoppers in mind. Fire the CEO and put his pay down to the store levels and find someone who can really bring Pennys back. I miss the nice welcome feeling that it used to have not what is going on now. Bad clothing, bad presentation, not enough on hand in sizes, just plain bad. I know why I shop Kohl's and TJ Maxx now...I can find an abundance of styles and manufacturers that appeal to me. They always have a large variety of sizes that appeal to me and my family. I atleast can find service at those places!!!

Salon Stylist

I have had my Hair done in your salons, on and off for quite a few years. And I keep giving them the benefit of doubt. First of all, your Hair stylists do not listen to there Client and they keep cutting my hair uneven, to short, overcharged me for product and services without telling me . And now I am done with there services. You call someone a Master Hair Stylist, when they cut your hair uneven!!! Oh , I forgot the part that she told me I was ridiculous. Not very Happy at Jcp. It's time to move on. Very dissatisfied customer

no scooters

I live in Spring Hill, Florida. I am Handdicaped and when I go shopping in stors its important for the stores that I shop in to have SCOOTERS. I do have my own, but when I travel by my self, its hard to remove it from the back of my car. As you know there are a lot of people who relie on Scooters in Florida. Will I went today to buy my self a few pairs of shoes and when I asked if they had any Scooters the answer was MO !! Now I remember why I don't shop there and go to SEARS. There they have them and I can shop for hours and not be in pain, from walking around. Since I have shopped there with my scooter and I had someone take it out for me there was no problem. But sometimes it doesn't work out I have someome with me. So for today you just lost a $100.00 sale. I hope this will enlighen you as to a problem you have and shouod fix, so you can make money and not lose it.

In their defense

I work for a JCPenney salon. In our defense to the disappointing comments, we can not leave our clients to answer the phones. We are directed as so. The Company was responsible for the firings of hundreds of receptionists. It's not the employees fault for what is going on. We have to abide by all company standards. Things are getting better, I can promise you that. Yes, they've made mistakes, but what business hasn't? Certain stores carry certain items. Yes we lost some great brands, but we gained a lot of wonderful new brands!! Give us a chance. Honestly, feedback is amazing! Thank you. :-)

Thank you JC Penney for pulling your advertising from the "Saturday Night Live" show that shows Jesus Christ “as a revenge-seeking murderer."

Although I did not watch the show I read the article on the Internet that Sears and JC Penney pulled their advertising.

As a Christian I am glad that the advertising was pulled.

I've been a JCP customer for almost 40 years - most recently an online customer. What have you done with all my favorite brands - Cabin Creek and St. John's Bay, to name two? In their place there is junque that I wouldn't be caught dead or alive wearing. No wonder you are in trouble!

Reaching out to your customers in an interesting way.

My wife and daughters returned home after shopping at jc penny's one afternoon and explained that it just wasnt fun.So i asked why and my daughter explained and told me something that was hilarious.But after thinking about it for a couple hours I thought it would be a brillant idea and all retailers that are strugling to get customers away from Amazon and back in their stores would benefit.So I did some research and cost to develope and it's within range to persue but cant seem to reach anyone with decision making skills to bounce some ideas off of reach me please

Love JCP

After not shopping the store for many years, we decided to go aboug 6 mos.ago and our experience was wonderful! We found such great sales, good quality clothing and not items that would shrink up after you washed them. Sales staff we delt with were all very helpful. We even opened a charge account and are loving the JCP rewards program! My only complaint, is the Online Ordering where it seems so much is out of stock. It would be great, to take off the items that are no longer available rather than sitting down spending so much time finding things you like only to find out they are no longer available. If you don't have it, it should not be listed. I do wish shipping time was shorter as well. Seems it takes a long time to receive items when you have them shipped to your home after ordering but all and all, I truly love this store and always look forward to going back and shopping.

Misleading flyers

The Feb 10 Valentines flyer featured front and center a red dress with 3/4 sleeves. I went to our local JCP store and they had no idea where the dress was. I checked online using the flyer to route me to the website and the dress was nowhere to be found. I heard that JCP was infamous for advertising items they didn't even have in stock. Now I know. Too bad. You've lost a customer.

The Final Straw

This is the last time I will shop here. After having yet another misrepresented coupon, I decided to cancel an online order-delivered to store, and close my CC account on the spot. This could not even be done correctly by the in store personnel (3) nor the 5 different people from the central office that put me on hold so I could explain my "questions" over and over. Although I find myself attracted to the products....they have the worst customer service ever!!!! It is not worth the trouble.

online shopping

Online shopping is the worst... i was having issues with getting my orders & then after waiting 45 days or more they cancel my order... and what they could send me i got 2 months later & that stuff wasn't even on back order... This store has gone down hill fast it was my favorite store now my business goes to KOHLS... you guys need to get rid of that new CEO..his new ideas suck..PS...little bit of advice how about having a website that you can actually order form... whats the point if you waste an hour trying to add stuff to your cart & you cant & i mean everything... Get together or your store is going shut down soon becuz all your business has gone elsewhere...

old invoice charge

I received a notification in the mail from a collection agency about an old bill from your company that allegedly was overdue since 2009, I have no idea of what it is, tried to call nobody can give me any info, I looked to all my bills since then and as far as I can see I had no past bill unpaid, in the meantime I receive a new JCPenny's card when the old one expired, I have not used the card since 2009 because I don't like the products nor the service at your store, now why didn't I receive any notices of an unpaid bill until now, I would absolutely have paid it if it was a oversight, I have excellent credit and it would be stupid of me to ruin by not paying a small bill that now it has turned into a big bill because of the interest, penalties and what not that you and the collection agency are hitting me with, this is a disgrace and an outrage, I am senior and my credit is very important to me, at least your company should have notified me before this and not try to take advantage now.
