flyrod

I recently visited the new Cabela's in Columbus, Ohio to purchase a Temple Fork switch rod. The rod I wanted was not in the store so I asked to have it ordered. Went through all sorts of machinations to get the rod ordered but kept running into "roadblocks". An associate at the Columbus store, Trista Wolfe, would not be deterred and worked through all the mess to finally get the rod ordered for me. (Cabela's had the switch rod listed as a spey rod!) I'm a retired school principal and love to deal with competent folks. Cabela's has a superstar working for them in Columbus and her name is Trista Wolfe. Don't lose her.

International Customer Discrimination

I did an online order, then I called and somebody told me that the order is ok and they will proceed, 1 hour later I checked the status of the order in the page and it says that the order was canceled, so I called again and they told me they refused my credit card because it's International and they can't confirm the address.

Later they told me that the order was cancelled because they tried to contact me to the numbers I provided and somebody told that I'm unknow. This is lie because I provided my cellphone number and the number of my office where I'm the CEO. After this they requested to me a copy of the credit card statments and I sent the copy of the credit card, the credit card statments with the address at the top and my passport.

Later they told me that they will send to the bank a fax to verify my phisical address, 1 week later I'm still waiting for an answer.

I'm sure they are doing this because I'm from Colombia and for some reason they don't like to provide their products to people in my country.

cabella can't install scopes

Wow, wouldn't buy scope/gun from Cabella again. They kept me waiting an extra hour because the cheap bore sight tool they use ran out of batteries and they are not authorized to replace it. Spoke to multiple managers. Apparently it is corporate policy not to provide stores with proper tools and they can't really do the job they advertise. They recommended I go to a real gun store next time. Couldn't agree more!
