I always liked eating at your place in Bloomington, In and Bedford, In. Never had a real complaint, till your put that stupid commercial on TV with the 2 stupid guys & the stupid gong! I hate that commercial so much, that I'm thinking of not returning to buy your food. I have no trouble with the food or service, but,really that commercial?. Re-think your commercials

horrible service

I ate in one of their places in Jacksonville yesterday and I was amazed at the way the food prepared as well as the table service. The woman that helped was named Lilliam and she was very disrespectful and told my wife and myself if we didn't like it not to come back and we won't. They should fire this woman because she is giving them a bad reputation.

Slipped on floor. Not marked

Friend slipped on floor.Signs still not put up until we were leaving 1 1/2 later. Manager said they would take care of bill if we didn't file accident report.while standing waiting for report black employee made comment white people looking for free meal.. He then said comments are like noses in the wind and didn't need this job. He commented on signs would not have prevented fall. Very poor for employer to even make comment. All was on video and made report. Will never be back

Lakeland Rt. 92

Oh my, I have been a customer since 1970. I moved to FL. and this restaurant is the worst. Does not look like it has ever had a mop or towel run in it since it opened. Sat for 30 min. no waitress. My wife and I finally got up and left.

very bad food

Went to Lawrence KS for brunch, waited 25 minutes, food was cold, had to find our waitress to ask, manager did not come to our table to apologize. We will not go back.

Saturday mourning between 6:45 & 7:15 AM I went to two Steak 'n Shake stores for eat I breakfast both were to be opened at 6:00 this must be drive thru??? Has anyone thought if you dont service your customers we won't be back Cleveland ohio steelyard store and kames corners store What is happening???

our dining

We visited the location in Tinley Park, Il. It took forever to get drinks. Our order came wrong and the server just walked away. We kept looking for our server but couldn't find her. She told us the manager was going to take off the hot dog at the register. It took 15 minutes to check out because no one knew what they were doing! The manager stayed in the kitchen just walking around and never came out to check on customers. This was not our first time there although it will be our last. You need to check the management at that store because its not being run properly.

I am a former employee, or how I consider it, a former slave. The kids that walk through the door and "manage" and treat employees as property and harass, and degrade them. The legality of their management needs to be reviewed by the service bureau, and shut down.

never again

Went to the Carbondale, Illinois Steak n Shake had to walk on a wet floor, was seated an notice a horrible smell. Was told there was a leak be the soda machines. It smelled like someone had thrown up. By time we got our food it was over cooked. Went to pay and there was a line and no one to ring us out. Server's just looked at us and didn't do anything. My dad asked for the Manager, when she finally came out she wasn't smiling or even friendly. We paid for our meal and left never to return again.

o my gosh!!!!!!

i went to steak and shake on friday night w/my pastor her secretary and my sister m.b. in we waited 20 mins to be seated and then waited 5 mins for water......we placed our order w/waitress and waited 1 HOUR and did not even get food.....shake and stake was my fav resturant....MCdonalds is better.....i hate shake and stake worst place ever.....also i saw our stupid idiot waitress give peaple who came after us their food....i wish i could sue stake and shake...and shut it down

Last try

This was the 3rd & last visit to S&S. at 3:52PM 6/13/14 N.Hills Blvd. Reno NV . They have yet to get an order correct. The order display is unreadable due to sunlight. I requested my receipt. She search around then handed me a folded strip. I later found it was the order form not my receipt. I pad with a gift card & the balance in cash. Every time the order taker is an idiot or can't speak or understand English.

bad service

We went through drive through last night. Didnt look at our order in the was correct on the receipt. .drove the 20 min home and our order was all messed up. I sent a pic of our order and a pic of the receipt. Was told there was nothing they could do since we had already left and then we were hung up on . Um a store credit would have been fine with us. This was the Mt. VERNON illinois 62864 Location

very greasy hamburgers

i went to the steak and shack on Post and had a 7x7 and when I started to eat it i had grease all over the napkin,my hands and was so greasy that the buns were so soaked up with the grease looked it it was soaked in a pot of grease and it was so really bad.something needs to be done about all the grease on there burgers.tks for your time and the concern.

Service and food

My wife and I had appointments for the Dr. and had to fast .When we were done my wife said lets go to steak and shake. We made our orders and waited for our food and when it came out it looked good. When we started to eat my food was so greasy it was nasty. When we tried to get service our waitress was to busy visiting to take notice. She never came to our table once .Jacksonville Illinois steak and shake is one we will visit again

I would say I'm a regular at Steak N Shake. I usually come in on lunch breaks during the week & have an 'OK' experience. However, I recently came in between 12:30 - 1:00 am & had the best experience that I've ever had in this store. I must commend you on your 3rd shift staff. The 3 girls (including the manager on shift) were very pleasant and upbeat servers. I enjoyed the girls hard work & excitement while doing their jobs. I never felt more at home in your store! The food was delicious, came out on a very timely manner & served perfectly. Thank you Steak 'n Shake 3rd shift for such a pleasant experience !

Half cooked chicken

Ordered a grilled chicken salad at drive thru no one behind me in drive thru but I was asked to pull to front door because they was cooking the chicken. Had to wait 15 minutes at door for salad. Got home with my salad which is 10 miles away and the chicken was still pink on inside. Needless to say that was a wasted $7. Will not have to worry aboute EVER returning to another Steak n Shake. Not up for food poisoning!!

Richmond Indiana

We went to Richmond Indiana waited in line to be seated for 6 minutes, servers walked by numerous time and didn't acknowledge us! Finally sat us down , 8 min later server comes to table to get order! Always like this at this location! Very bad service ! Won't be back !

Unfriendly to the blind

Went to your Linton Ave, Delray Beach, Fla location last nite with a visually impaired friend and his guide dog. The guy at the door hollered that we couldn't bring the dog in - after I pointed out that it was an ADA compliant guide dog the guy laughed in our faces. - A waitress came up and told us we could bring it in but would have to sit where they wanted us to - we told her we would sit where we wanted. After we sat down - a few young men sitting at the next table starting sneezing and complaining they were allergic to the dog and we should move or leave - We asked to see the manager who hemmed and hawed and seemed clueless about what to do - Everything the staff did was in direct violation of the law and we decided to leave as it was now the most unpleasant experience we ever had. We will be notifying the proper authorities about the lack of compliance with the law and discrimination and filing a complaint with the local Better Business bureau - we may even pursue a legal remedy.
