Training needed

I was at your hurst store in the north east mall today at 1pm. Looking to spend $500 plus dollars on a safe. Couldn't get any help. Sales clerk was stocking boxes for 15min. Before acknowledging us. I thought he was a delivery guy and the whole time the manager was inside the office just watching. Asked a question that he didn't know. His answer was there's the manager. You can ask him. Manager was put out, short, and very rude. Will not be returning to this location.corporate office needs to give them a surprise visit.

Great Service

Brooke was my cashier at your store and was exceptional! She helped me and my family and friends get out hunters Ed licenses and filled out all the annoying forms for us. She was so polite and friendly. We enjoyed talking to her while checking out quickly at your store. Shout out to Brooke!

Account for Needy Athletes

I recently wrote a request to open an account so that money can be spent for them at your store. My request was denied by your home office. We are just requesting to be able to donate money for some needy athletes at a neighboring school. Please consider this as it is just a way for us to spend money at your store on the behalf of some needy athletes.

Very Unsatisfied Loyal Customer

My husband bought me a Live Strong treadmill about a year ago. Today, it stopped working so we called the store that we purchased this $1,300 treadmill at, and spoke with a store manager and told him what happened. He asked if we still had a receipt and we couldn't find it, so he said after 90 days then they can't help us anymore and cannot look up our purchases to verify that we bought a warranty even though we have a rewards card with them. We will NEVER make ANY PURCHASES from DICK'S SPORTING GOODS again. My family of 5 will be shopping at their competitors from now on.

Review for: Dick's Sporting Goods in Orlando, FL

Horrible Location

This dicks is very unorganized. I took my bike in to get it tuned up and they said 63 dollars it will be done in 3 days. I show up 5 days later and it hasn't even been looked at yet. I call 7 days later and it still hasn't been looked at. 10 days later I call to get my money back and to pick up my bike with no work been done to it and the bike service tech says he can get it done in thirty minutes. If you need a bike tune up, go to a local orlando bike shop. You might have to drive to winter park but its well worth it. I got my bike fixed for 10 dollars and it took 10 minutes while I waited at Ragin Cajun bike shop on the corner of orange ave and kaley ave.

Review for: Dick's Sporting Goods in Orchard Park, NY

Poor sales service

While shopping for a new treadmill I went to Dick's in Orchard Park. I was there for 20 minutes in which time the floor associates were busy talking in the bike/gym area and ignoring me. 2 younger men came in and went over to the exercise/weight wall and were looking at purchasing items below $100. Associate immediately went over to ask them if they needed help and began his spiel. Unfortunately because he ignored me Dick's in Orchard Park lost a $1,000 - $2,000 cash purchase and a customer. This is no the first time this has happened to me in this store. Perhaps they should train their associates on customer service and realize the 40-50 age group (women included) do have disposable income and are willing to purchase large ticket items.

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE

Called to see if an item was available, was transferred to the apparel department and spoke to a rude and uninformed person who was absolutely no help. Spoke with no manners, no class and with no interest in helping me. Won't shop here again. 1-14-13 (1:22 pm)

Shoe department

Shoe department assistant unwilling to help. 12/28/12. Too busy stocking shelves. When we requested help, her response was, you can see all we have is out. When asked to measure my sons foot she just pointed at the measuring device and walked away. I called the store on my cell phone to only be transferred to the shoe department. Sales associate ignored the ringing phone the entire time as my son and I walked out of the store and bought two pair of soccer shoes for $125.00 at a competing store.

Phone Call

I've never been to this Dick's location, so my review doesn't have to do with an in-store experience. Instead it has to do with a phone call I made to them (today December 21st, 2012 around 12:15pm) I called simply to ask if they had an item in stock. The first thing I heard when the lady picked up the phone was, "Who were you holding for?" .... Not "Thank you for calling Dick's Sporting Goods." It wasn't until after I explained that I wasn't on hold that she asked what I needed help with. I told her, and she went to search for the item. About a minute later she picks up the phone again with "Who are you holding for?"... After I reminded her what I was waiting for she (in a slightly annoyed tone) says "Oh yeah, I have it on my to-do list" and places me back on hold... Um, alright? After about another minute a male picks up and says, "Sir?" ... After explaining I'm not who he's looking for, he puts me on hold.. Again. The fourth time someone picks up its a different male voice saying "Ma'am? I'm sorry we don't have that bench in stock." I explained to him that he had the wrong person and I was not calling about a bench, so he put me back on hold, yet again. The fifth time a different male voice picks up saying, "Hello? Hello?". I guess he couldn't hear me talking because I then got hung up on. I'm not even sure why I bothered calling back, but I did. The first lady I spoke to picked up the phone again with a "Who are you holding for?" I explained I was hung up on while holding for her to look for an item for me only to be told "Yeah we don't have that." Ok. Great.

I'm not sure what is wrong with their phone system, but it needs to be executed better. It is not hard to keep track of who you have waiting on which line. I have worked with a multi-line phone system for years. It is also not difficult to go the extra mile with a simple, "Thank you for holding" or a "may I place you on hold for a moment?" Or maybe an apology for mistaking your customer multiple times.

Needless to say, I planned on purchasing two of these items (Underarmour collared USC shirts) and I ended up purchasing none. Don't think I'll be doing business with this store again.
