Go somewhere else!

I got my car serviced here and within a couple hours my car broke down. They didn't take responsibility for it and I had to pay them alot to fix it.

There are better options

The 'express' service is not as it seems. I have been told 'wait 2 hours" - and the staff seem totally unconcerned. The $49 tire rotation and oil change is fine if you have a day to wait. Again, rude unconcerned staff. There are lots of other good places to shop. Best avoided

Avoid

They lure you.in with a cheap oil change special, then nickle and dime you to death. Their hourly charging rates for stuff like breaks are a rip off. I just paid $500 in labour for an oil change and front break replacement for my Benz, plus parts.

Went in for an oil change, ever since then my car started leaking oil because they did not tighten the filter. Also wanted to charge me over $1000 for unnecessary repairs. I do not recommend this place, avoid at all costs

Poor Quality Work

We had them replace the hub and air conditioning on a truck we barely drive two years ago. $1000 worth of work. 16K-miles later, both have failed and of course it's not their problem. I expect things like this to hold up much longer than that. Used to use them routinely but not going back.

Get your oil changed, but don't do anything else there. Only 2 good mechanics and the rest are garbage. If you do more than an oil change, you are taking your chances. You have been warned.

A/C help on a road trip

Our A/C stopped blowing cool air while we were on a roadtrip, so we googled to find a nearby Midas. These guys were able to take our car in right away and figured out the problem. They were quick, helpful and the price was reasonable. They also changed our oil and we were back on the road in an hour.

Unprofessional and Overcharged

Had my car towed there to get repaired and was told by CARLOS that my battery was completely dead and had to be removed to get charged to take back where I got it from and bring back. Once charged $104 for the diagnosis I paid that because I was taking it to another mechanic to have my car repaired for $371 compared to their price of $877 to replace my alternator now was charged an additional $25 to put the battery back in that they took out... The worst thing I ever heard, not to mention CARLOS was so unprofessional and has no customer service skills at all. Will NEVER return to Midas because of my experience.

Dont trust them.

I had my truck for 3 years and never had a problem. Took it in for oil change and brakes. They said I needed new "struts" , the cost was $300 so I got them because I was going out of town. Took it back because I was having water pump problems and they wanted to charge me $500. Something didn't seem right. Now my back brake line is leaking. I think I was set up.

Scam artists.tried to make me pay $400+ for a 25 cent piece.

I wish I could give zero stars. Do NOT go here. Over the winter, I slipped on some black ice and my windshield wipers, fluid, and signals stopped working. I thought it was a fuse so I brought it in for them to look at. They said I needed a diagnostic and they would call me when it was done. A few hours later the guy calls me back to the store and I go down with my boyfriend. He tells me that the "Spiral Cord" was broken and it was a $300 piece, plus a hundred for labor. I asked "What if I get the part?" And he said then extra labor fees would be included and I'd be paying the same amount. My boyfriend even asked him if he checked the fuses and the guy said yes, they were all fine. I told him I didnt have the money to fix it immediately so I left with my car. Fast foward a few months, and I have a family member look at it for me. He said the clock spring(interchangeable) with spiral cord) was perfectly fine, opens up the fuse box and finds the fuse for my wipers fluid and signal are all connected and broken. I was so angry and relieved at the same time.

Similar terrible experience

I had tires changed over at the Logan Midas. They damaged a rim, then they put the tires on wrong so I had to take it back in and wait another several hours for them to fix their mistake. While in the process of changing the tires they had messed up on, the damaged the sidewall of one of my $250.00 tires. They denied it and would do nothing about it, finally agreeing to clean my tires to blend in the damage. To top it all off they charged me $50.00 over their estimate because of all of their "extra trouble." I would never go to them again!

Rip Off Artists

They put WATER in my De-Icer fluid and it froze up on me while driving to St. Louis, MO during the winter. Had to stop and buy something to spray on my windshield to prevent the ice build up. They are basically rip off artists even with a coupon. If you can, go somewhere else for service and repairs.

DO NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION--DANGER!!

Went in to repair shop for brakes/oil change, came out with a vehicle that I can't even drive anymore due to a "coincidental" damage to my wheels. I've called in to their customer service line 5 TIMES to get response from regional management about an issue & have received NO phone call. Then I received a call from the branch manager who said he would keep deleting any request I have to be contacted, said corporate would do nothing, then he hung up in my face. MIKE at this location is a TERRIBLE manager--DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME!

Worst Experience. Ripoff

Well i called in to arrange a tune up on my 2000 Ford Taurus. Well the man was polite enough to say come down and he would check it out with a rough estimate of 100$ well once I made it there the man eyeballed my vintage Juicy Couture bag. Went and looked under my hood. We walked back in together and he had printed out a receipt saying that I was saving $178 and the total would be $308 and . WTF!! This man is crazy for a tune up?!! I mean RIP OFF. I instantly told him no. And left. I only have them one star because I had to give them something in order to post.

Horrible Service

I telephoned in advance prior to going to the MIDAS store at Southland Mall. I requested help and advice regarding loosing air from my suspension. During the phone conversation, I was told to ask for the manager when I arrived. The Manager was too busy with another technician helping a young female. They both spent their time accomondating the female customer. Finally when I asked for advice and told them that I had called prior; they said, "you called an hour ago, and I have to get to the cars before we close. The store closed at 5 pm, I arrived at 4 pm; and I could not get the Manager to quickly check my car. The Technician who attempted to check my car, did not have a clue. I will never bring my cars to the Midas at Southland Mall.

water pump service/malfuntion

Hi, My car was serviced by Midas, in November, the 23rd, 2012, due to my car overheating. At the time, I had Midas put in a new water pump, and belts. I since then (feb. 24, 2013)had service done by someone else, as I needed a new water pump, due to the one put in was leaking. I hope to get a refund on the parts and service as I suffered without heat throughout the winter until a few weeks ago. What can be done to obtain my service with you? I appreciated what I thought was honesty, even though there was another time without my permission that someone there decided to put antifreeze in my vehicle and did not ask prior yet I only had my vehicle toed so did not even need the service. I found that out by a phone call a week later to my surprise. I hope the customers are of value there. Thanks.

Do not trust these people!

First of all, this place is ridiculously overpriced. They charge more compared to any other shop. They lie to women and take advantage of them, selling them things they don't really need and making it sound like their car will fall apart if they don't! When I took my car there to get fixed for a sensor, I was told that my car needed a new catalytic converter for about $3,000 and if I didn't get it my car engine would basically end up blowing up and I would end up on the side of the road with more costly problems. When I heard this and how much it was going to cost I was ready to cry- this is obviously the tactic they use to scare people into spending more money. So, when I talked to others later about what they told me and quoted me for they laughed and told me it was a huge ripoff and that they lied to me about the catalytic converter and that your car isn't going to break down if the catalytic converter goes out, it is just going to get really loud, but then you can get it welded back for cheap. So the people at Midas basically lied to my face!

Dissatisfied

I was very dissatisfied with my visit today....I went in to have my 2008 Versa checked for an issue with my car...I had gone on line and had seen MANY reports of problems with the connection to the muffler rusting out and breaking off. Everyone said they had gone to Midas and they were able to weld it back for About $50. I was told after they checked my car that the entire muffler had to be replaced and it would be just under $290 and I would have to come back because they didn't have the muffler in stock . I left and went to Big Al's in Newport News. As soon as I said I needed my muffler checked he told me they call it the "versa" issue and they could repair it for $50 which they did within 30 minutes!! I will not go to this Midas location again! I believe they were trying to take advantage of a woman....

No More Midas for Me Thanks...

I had a flat tire and stopped at this Midas shop for assistance and was told my tire was damaged beyond repair and that it needed to be completely replaced. The tech did not even inspect the tire from the inside (probably did not feel like taking it off the rim because it was the end of the day) and told me that from his experience he knew that this tire was damaged from the inside without even having to take a look at it from the inside. I decided to get a second opinion and stopped in at Canadian Tire, just minutes away also on Mapleview. The Canadian Tire tech properly inspected my tire (from the inside) and determined that it was not damaged to the point of requiring replacement and was in fact "like new". He showed me the punctures, repaired the problem and I spent just over $30. I also found the Midas rep there not very pleasant... No more Midas for me thanks....

Review for: Midas in Logan, UT

Poor

The only reason I am putting 'poor to fair' is because there is no 'awful' category. To make a long story short: I recently moved to Logan, and needed some work done on my "97 subaru. I took it to this Midas ONLY after hearing good things from a co-worker. I had reservations considering I had taken my car to a local mechanic in SLC prior to living in Logan. The Logan Midas quoted that I needed a new steering gear ($700 replacement). They did the work, I got the car back. A week later I brought it back because I was still experiencing problems, the Midas quoted a new fuel filter, spark plugs/ignition wires, ($500 repair). At this point I called the local SLC mechanic and he quoted $150 less for the same work, so naturally I went to him. BUT! As my mechanic was working on the car he called me to ask who put the steering gear in, I told him it was the Logan Midas. He then explained that it was done very wrong, and because of that, the new steering boot was damaged beyond repair. !?!?! So I took it back to the Logan Midus, and told them they needed to make the situation right. They did, but only after telling me the mistake was a (and I quote) "minor oversight". Apparently a mistake on a $700 repair is referred to as an oversight... They corrected the steering gear again, but never offered any type of explanation. I am not one to write scathing reviews, but in this case I felt compelled because the local SLC mechanic not only did a better job, for less money, but he also caught the mistakes of the big corporation. From now on, I will continue to support local businesses (mechanics included), never again will I be going to the Logan Midas, where they have the monetary means to get away with very poor business and mechanical practices.

quotes that don't add up!!

Asked for a quote on getting the control arms replaced on a little car. I got one price that day of $125/ea, then a week later I call back to make an appt to get the work done and the price had changed to $149/ea, the next morning that I'm suppose to take the car in for work I get a call, saying they can't do any better then $210/ea. I told them I might not new in cause I was going to make some phone calls. The first place I called for a quote could get me the same part for $78/ea!!! So I ended up getting the control arms replaced and a new set of tires on for the same amount of money Midas wanted just to fix the control arms. Apparently there management had changed in the past year or so. They used to be so good to me, now they are crooks!! Beware!! My friends at work is highly suspicious that the same guys sliced open his inner boot while they were doing his oil change!! They don't even deserve 1 start for a review!
