I purhcased the Straight Talk modem online through a Walmart and did a ship to store. I paid $107.13 for the modem. I think hooked it up as per instructions and activated it with my credit card (kept on file for auto billing).

After just 3.5 months, the phone was permanently deactivated. When I called to find out what the problem was I was read a "scripted" response stating that I am guilty of criminal activity including exceessive calls to chat rooms, voice mail boxes and also calls to Foreign Countries. (the plan I subscribed to was for US use only). I made 2 additional calls to try to resolve this and spoke with the same two people BOTH times and was never allowed to speak. In additon, I was referred to by the phone number they had assigned to me.

The only remedy they would offer me is to purchase another modem and I'd get a new phone number. Dahhh...do they think anyone in their right mind would do that? This is a clear case of consumer fraud & abuse!
