Transmission

Had transmission problems with my honda CRV. Had it to several local shops. AAMCO was the only one that gave me a complete price. Others wanted to charge me to remove the transmission and take it apart before they would give me a price. Friendly People. Would recomment

Should not put air in tires

No communication with customer. All contact must be done by the customer. Do not explain what fails or what caused the problem. Perform unauthorized repairs. Charge top dollar. Abuse customer vehicles. Return vehicles with damaged parts. Then want to do free work on the vehicle that you do not need. I would not have them put air in my tires.

Great work

I took my car to Aamco Transmissions, it was not shifting, and shifting hard and sometimes, it would shift out of gear at stop signs. Aamco tested it out, added 1.5 qts of automatic transmission fluid and it works like a charm.

Great work people, I recommend this shop for anybody that experiences any type of transmission problems no matter how small they may seem.

I was impressed with the manner of people working there, nice down to earth folks.

Thank you. Jim Cruse

Aamco repair

I had taken my car to Jay at Lakepark Aamco for a second opinion because I was told by another garage that my car needed a lot of work on the Transmission, which would be expensive. After they looked at my car it was found that it needed much less work and I saved quite a bit of money. Thank you for being honest and fair.

Great People and Service

Wonderful people and wonderful services. I will not take my car anywhere else to get it serviced or repaired. They have always done great work for me and even put up with my "feelings" about my car. They understand I can't always tell them what is wrong but I know when things are wrong. The staff takes the time to listen to me and go for a ride with me when I need them to so they understand what I am talking about. I drive a lot! I know when my car does not "feel" right and the staff at Aamco will work with me to get it feeling better. I tell everyone to take their car, truck, van, etc... to Aamco on SE 14th to get it repaired or serviced. The staff treats me like a person not a pay check and they always take the time to explain what they are doing so I understand.

AAMCO

I LOVE the people and the service I get from this AAMCO!!!

However, whoever does these listings hasn't a clue that they have moved to 152 Street, just south of the Fraser Hwy!

I would like it if whoever controls these sites would get their act(s) together and UPDATE the address of this wonderful business!

They do not deliver on time

My car has been there 15 days and they've missed their delivery time to fix the car twice. When I've asked what is the issue all they say is that they are working on the car. I am not having a good customer experience with this store.

McQueen Aamco franchise

Run, don't walk to another, ANY other, transmission repair shop. The backstory: Thanksgiving until now almost Easter of transmission replacement/repairs that have not worked...an initial cost of ~$3000... two different managers and one person actually fired...continuous promises from the owner and consistently bad replacement parts...still NO CAR! The current story: Finally received the car back after not one, but three tries at transmission repair...and just discovered, after one day back, that the now twice-replaced/rebuilt transmission is still not working. Took the car to have an outside computer analysis after the engine light came on AGAIN (what?!) and the transmission solenoid, torque converter, valves and sensors (all things that were replaced) are showing malfunctioning. Really?! Of course, we are trying a different Aamco franchise this go-round and not returning the car to the McQueen shop. We'd even rather go elsewhere than Aamco except that we have a warranty from the first attempted repair and would have to restart and pay again at another transmission company. Better not to have gone here in the first place, but too late now. Hence the review of this McQueen franchise. ...save yourself the aggravation and go someplace else.

Excellent Choice

It would seem there are quite a few transmission service companies in Louisville, most of which do not do well in these reviews. This is an exception, as these guys are honest, capable, and efficient. My experience was exceptional and I was informed my issue was a sensor NOT a transmission problem. From previous issues elsewhere I expected an attempt at upsell....I recommend them.

Auto repair

I drive a 2004 Buick Rendevous and it started to have a severe growling noise and I did not know what it was. So I went to a repair shop in Canton, Ohio and the manger of the shop stated it was a transmission problem and it would cost over $2000.00 to repair. I could not afford that and my friend told me to get a second diagnose on the problem. I went to AAMCO on Everhard Road in Canton Ohio and the growling noise was from a rear wheel bearing resulting only in a $300.00 repair. The mechanics at AAMCO were very knowledgeable and very friendly. I will always take my car there for repairs.

Still Working great!

Man I'm sure pleased with these guys. They rebuilt my F-150 over 100,000 ago and that thing is still going strong. There's an old saying that is so true - If you got a tooth ache, you go to the dentist. If you got a transmission problem, you go to Aamco!

A job done right!

I've dealt with a lot of shops through the years. My best luck has been with the dealership. Even though I try to maintain my car, things still go wrong sometimes. About a year ago I discovered Aamco Transmission in Fort Smith when my car was having a transmission problem and the dealer told me I needed a new one. My gut instinct told me to check somewhere else and luckily I had Aamco look at it. After some testing they determined it was an electronic problem and fixed it for nearly two thousand dollars less than what I thought I was going to have to spend. I simply cannot say how glad I am to have tried them. Since then I've been taking my car there for everything. They cost less than the dealer and do just as good of work (in this case, better). I highly recommend you give them a try.

Failed to Deliver

I have dealt with this AAMCO location two different times for transmission work. Both have been a total waste of my time and money. Both times but with different managers, this location has been dishonest about issues pertaining to my car. Both times their lack of knowledge or lack of work they had promised, had me taking the car to the Maplewood location to be fixed properly. The same owner owns the Anoka and Maplewood locations. I notified the owner both times but he really does not care and that is why I need to warn you, do not rely on this location for anything. The staff at the Maplewood location care and fix the problems. From my experience the owner hopes problems just go away.

Bad experience at the Santa Monica AAMCO store.

The owner does not care about you or your car. Mine received a nice big dent while at the Santa Monica AAMCO store and the owner won't even admit it. Says I'm lying. Yet she left my car in the parking lot rather in a secure area. It was there for 8 days too. The morning I picked up the car, it was again left outside the garage unlocked and the door was partly open. I know this because I arrived before the shop opened. I'm lucky the battery was not completely dead in addition to this body damage.
