Annoying

I have been with Kaiser for the last 13 years. Now all of a sudden I get phone calls asking to update information. If I had an update I would log in and change it. Stop with the annoying phone calls

no doctors available

I have been a member for over 25 years. Recently I have noticed that when I try to get a same day appointment with a doctor I am told there are no doctors available for that day or for the next day and that we should go to the ER. I pay $1400+ per month so that I can see a doctor. I do not want to be sent to the ER where it will take 6 hours and cost another 500 to 1000 dollars for an urgent care issue that is not an emergency.\ In addition, I contacted customer service to find out if there was a place that had costs of procedures that I could review prior to having a procedure done and was told "No, we don't have anything like that" Later I spoke with another agent who said I can just go to kp.org / treatment estimates. It would be nice to get the right answer the first time. (the second person was helpful though...)

Assistance from Member Services

I recently had surgery in Roseville. While there a incident occurred and my husband made a complaint. We received forms, which I completed and sent back. I got a letter last week with the same forms, I have been trying to reach the case manager M. Wong without any results! Every time I have called a number that was provided I got that person voice mail. I can not believe that there isn't someone available in the Member service dept. that can answer a phone call. Today I tried to reach the head of the dept. and she was out of the office until 6-28, but there isn't a new message on her voice mail. 7-1- 13 I received another letter that said they were going to close the complaint because they haven't gotten the forms. This is driving me crazy because I also had a concern re: a doctor and it was taken care of quickly. Did any one down in the deep hole of member services think to check with other investigators . Why does there need to be the same forms for each issue. It was my understanding if you fill out the forms that they were good for a year. I have been a Kaiser member for 30 years, plus and employee and this is the most shameful thing that I can think of. Not being able to get the help I need, when I need it.

Out of office coverage

I have experienced repeated problems with perscription refills.when my primary care doctor is out of the office.Kaiser does not have system that works,if your doctor is out, the refill will not be approved until he returns. This means that you will run out and your chain of medication will be broken. The lack of a proper system, means that the much advertised mail order system is useless, the lead time prevents timely delivery, that means several hours driving to Kaiser to pickup the late prescription .Did I mention that you had run out of medication while this method obtaining these meds. This is a common problem that I have heard mentioned by several people, in a class that I attended at Kaiser and still has not been corrected.
