My boyfriend went in to Victoria's Secret to buy me a gift card for my anniversary/Christmas gift (I knew I was getting it because I told him it was the only thing I really wanted). 4 minutes after he had bought it, I checked my email and noticed that they were having a promotion going on where if you bought a gift card of $75 or more you would receive a free black sequin clutch with a lip gloss inside. I immediately called him to ask if he had bought it yet because I really wanted the clutch. He said yes that he just bought it, so I asked him to go back in and ask if I could get the free clutch. When he went back in, the same people were still working at the registers and the lady told him that it was too late and that he couldn't have it. What I don't understand is why do they always send me all of these "get something for free" emails, but are never giving them to customers unless they ask about it? And how is it "too late" to just hand him over a free item when they just checked him out? I work in retail and whenever we have anything special going on we always tell the customer that they can receive one if they would like; not hide it from them. I think it's shady that they don't let anyone know about their promotions going on. Plus, if this had happened in my store, my managers would go ahead and "take care of the customer" because customer service is always our #1 priority. I was very upset with the customer service that he received from the Towne West Wichita KS mall and we will not be going in there anymore. Also, this is not the first time that I have been upset with the customer service that I have received there.
