Similar terrible experience

I had tires changed over at the Logan Midas. They damaged a rim, then they put the tires on wrong so I had to take it back in and wait another several hours for them to fix their mistake. While in the process of changing the tires they had messed up on, the damaged the sidewall of one of my $250.00 tires. They denied it and would do nothing about it, finally agreeing to clean my tires to blend in the damage. To top it all off they charged me $50.00 over their estimate because of all of their "extra trouble." I would never go to them again!

Poor

The only reason I am putting 'poor to fair' is because there is no 'awful' category. To make a long story short: I recently moved to Logan, and needed some work done on my "97 subaru. I took it to this Midas ONLY after hearing good things from a co-worker. I had reservations considering I had taken my car to a local mechanic in SLC prior to living in Logan. The Logan Midas quoted that I needed a new steering gear ($700 replacement). They did the work, I got the car back. A week later I brought it back because I was still experiencing problems, the Midas quoted a new fuel filter, spark plugs/ignition wires, ($500 repair). At this point I called the local SLC mechanic and he quoted $150 less for the same work, so naturally I went to him. BUT! As my mechanic was working on the car he called me to ask who put the steering gear in, I told him it was the Logan Midas. He then explained that it was done very wrong, and because of that, the new steering boot was damaged beyond repair. !?!?! So I took it back to the Logan Midus, and told them they needed to make the situation right. They did, but only after telling me the mistake was a (and I quote) "minor oversight". Apparently a mistake on a $700 repair is referred to as an oversight... They corrected the steering gear again, but never offered any type of explanation. I am not one to write scathing reviews, but in this case I felt compelled because the local SLC mechanic not only did a better job, for less money, but he also caught the mistakes of the big corporation. From now on, I will continue to support local businesses (mechanics included), never again will I be going to the Logan Midas, where they have the monetary means to get away with very poor business and mechanical practices.
