I have been a Costco member for 20+ years. I purchased a used car from a dealership almost 2 years ago. The KIRKLAND battery in it was dated 2011. It is clearly marked 3 year replacement and 100 month limited warranty. The battery failed and Costco refused to honor the warranty because I was not the purchaser of the battery. I do not understand this policy when I simply wanted a replacement battery, not cash, nor credit in the store. The woman at the customer service desk explained to me that she needed to look up the cost of the battery when it was originally purchased. She said me buying the car voided the warranty. That was $80 that I cannot afford being I am a single mother after 28 years of marriage. I say Bad policy!!!!! Exchanges should be allowed for warranty items such as car batteries!!
